The Church of St. Nicholas was finished in 1735 on the sight of an earlier church by the same architect that built the St. Nicholas Cathedral in Lesser Town, Kilian Dientzenhofer. The church had the original intention of being a Benedictine Monastery. Until 1901, the Church of St. Nicholas couldn’t be sceen from the Old Town Squarebecause of a house blocking the white facade. Since the construction, it has been in the possesion of whatever party was in power of the Bohemia region.
