The Franciscan Garden is a great alternative route when going to the National Museum. As it sits right next to the Church of Virgin Mary of the Snows, it serves as a break from the bustle of the city.
The area of which the Franciscan Garden stands today was originally a garden when the New Town was being built. However, the quality of the garden required restoration, which didn’t come until the early 1990s. After the restoration the garden was open to the public.
