Close to the Troja castle there is the beautiful Botanic Garden, founded in 1968 at the area of 130 hectares according to the plan of t h e ing. Jaroslav Jäger and the first part was opened for the public in 1992.
Five years later there was built the Japanese Garden and later on there were built another departments – in spring 2004 the wine yard of the St Clara and the tropical glasshouse Fata Morgana. In quite a short time, from the vegetative point of view there appeared a lot of beautiful plants. The southern part of t h e garden is closed with the walkway with a nice view on Troja and Prague, where is located the Chapel of the St Clara.
The Botanic Garden in Troja is opened to the public the whole year and through the whole area there goes the Natural trail marked by the green-white marks. This beautiful nature trail has 11 stops, where the visitors are informed about the history and nature of the Troja and shows some places with the beautiful sights on Prague.
